LG 37LE5300 37-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED LCD HDTV for Too low to display

I just received my new television about an hour ago and it is absolutely wonderful. I have always been in love with the 120hz picture quality in televisions, and this tv does not disappoint. At the moment I have in Avatar and it looks better than when I saw the movie in the theater. At first I was worried about a few reviews on different sites that complained about the sound quality, the manual, or the remote. But for me at least, everything looks and works perfectly. I only glanced at the paper manual to connect the base correctly but everything else was pretty much self explanatory, from connecting my dvd player to my wii and 360. The cd manual for the different functions of the remote and tv was quite convenient and easy to understand. The remote itself feels good in my hand *not too heavy, not too light* and the buttons are a decent size and easy to navigate through. As far as the sound is concerned... I have the volume up to about 14 and it is quite robust. However, if a person has a large room or den, I imagine that a nice surround sound system would further enhance the quality even further. On another note, I'm excited to see what this tv will look like utilizing a blu-ray player/Ps3. If it looks this good with just a basic dvd player, I'd love to see it joined with another quality piece of equipment. All in all I love it. This is a beautiful television for a great price. Awesome job LG.

*As always, Amazon is a wonderful online retailer. I used the one day shipping with prime for 3.99, and it came promptly and in wonderful condition.*

Panasonic TC 32LX14 - 31.5" VIERA LCD TV - widescreen - 720p - HDTV

Cheap Panasonic TC 32LX14 - 31.5" VIERA LCD TV - widescreen - 720p - HDTV Discount Review Shop

I have 2 larger plasmas and this is my first LCD Flat Panel. The Panasonic TC-32LX14 has all the connections you could need for watching movies & TV, playing games or viewing photos in a great looking, lightweight package. I bought this one to replace a CRT in the bedroom. I would have liked to go bigger (due to a 10-11 ft viewing distance), but for the price this was too good to pass on (9 at Costco and others). And in actuality this 32-inch works just fine for a bedroom TV. Plus it's lightweight and easy to hang on the wall.

One of my other flat panels is also a Panasonic and the form and function is very similar. The Menus are easy to navigate and the Tuner works great for picking up cable broadcasts (although the channel numbering system is unfamiliar). The remote is clean, simple and easy to use. The picture is great with gaming systems and the cable TV picture straight from the jack is good in standard and great in digital. Some mentioned the sound being an issue. I can attest that it's not up to concert hall sound, but it's definitely loud enough. And if you have a surround sound system then you're golden. Panasonic makes great and reliable products so if you're looking for a a great value in flat panels definitely check this one out.

Westinghouse LD-3255VX 32-Inch 720p LED HDTV, Black for $379.00

Cheap Westinghouse LD-3255VX 32-Inch 720p LED HDTV, Black Discount Review Shop

There are several negative reviews on this display. Let me put my 2 cents:

Amazon sells two identical TV's the only difference is that one ends with an AR in the model umber the other ends with VX. I initially ordered the VX model and it arrived very quickly, but one issue, there was something broken inside the unit. The reason was Amazons packaging, they stuck the manufacture box inside a slightly bigger box with no padding!!!! Called an got it replaced, only thing was they didn't have the VX model so they shipped me the AR model. Again identical except this one came in a different style Westinghouse box but this was more heavy duty with double padding to hold the TV firm. I called Westinghouse and they confirmed that the only difference between the models is the packaging and where they are sold. So if you are thinking of buying buy the AR model, my opinion.

Now to the TV, this is a great LED panel for the price, lot of people have complained about the sound and it is valid, the sound is "tinny" but hey this is a small panel just attached 2.1 system for and you are in good shape. The HD (720P) on this panel is superb almost as good as name brands like Samsung and Sony for a third of the cost. Now this is definitely not a IPS panel as colors do desaturate above a certain viewing angle. Again the thing to remember here is the price and second this is not a home theater system, its meant to be used in the bedroom or a small room. The firmware update does fix the subpar controller performance.

Bottom line Fantastic TV for the Price. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a TV for the bedroom or dorm room.

I have had this set in my bedroon for about a month, now. I looked at this one for months at the local department store where it was displayed next to several other, similar sized TVs. The Phillips had by far the best quality picture and I planned to pick up when the price went down. Luckily I happened to stop by when the set went on a close out sale and they only had 3 left. So, picture wise, I like this TV better than the competition. It was simple to set up. It was refreshing to see the simplicity of the Menu after my large Sony LCD TV, which is a great TV, too, but complicated and somewhat cumbersome to manage. The sound volume is good for the small room that I have it in, and I am happy with the sound quality. This is a really nice TV and I find myself spending more time in my bedroom, as a result.

HP Pavilion LC3200N 32" LCD HDTV for $0.00

Cheap HP Pavilion LC3200N 32" LCD HDTV Discount Review Shop

This is the biggest, best television I've ever owned, and I'm no connoisseur of televisions either. The picture is clear, the options plenty, with lots of input and output jacks in the back of the television so you can hook up your DVD, cable, computer, and a few other things.

My only complaint at this point would be that the stereo audio hook-ups only work with an HDTV input, and, since our cable hook-up is not HDTV, we only get to use the two television speakers when watching cable - although we do have surround sound when watching DVDs.

Overall, it's an excellent television and I HIGHLY recommend it. We got it at a price lower than on Amazon, but I'd still consider it worth the list price on this site.

So, the price was great; much cheaper than the local brick and mortar electronic stores at the time I was originally making the purchase.. HDTVs is wonderful. Seeing this TV side by side the Samsung DLP's in the stores convinced me I made the better choice. The picture is fantastic, great features. I only wish it had PIP, but I'll survive. I work from home, and I also have set up my laptop to use the TV as a monitor... It is working out really well..

LG 42PJ350 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV for Too low to display

Cheap LG 42PJ350 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV Discount Review Shop

When I first started shopping for a TV, I of course was lured into thinking that I needed 1080p super fast mhz, etc. The fact of the matter is, you need to choose the TV based on what you are going to watch on it. I mean, would you buy a Ferrari to use as your daily driver? I am a casual TV watcher. Yes, I love HD quality, who doesn't. One thing you never see in reviews is that if you use this to watch regular ol' cable or dish provided TV you are not going to be receiving 1080p quality on those channels. You will be receiving 720p most of the time. When you will take advantage of 1080p is when you use your Blu-Ray DVD or PS3, etc to watch Blu-Ray discs. Thats probably it. Then ask yourself, how often do actually watch Blu-Ray discs. If you say hardly ever to never like me, don't waste your money on 1080p or the mystique that goes around it. I like watching my HBO HD and some other stuff but still like 50% of TV or more is 480i, regular broadcast.

So, I priced this LG 42" plasma out. I found it sub 0 locally, new. What I needed in a TV:
1. 1 HDMI input
2. Some type of audio out.
3. 720p
4. Skinny and nice and black and not too heavy (for if I wanted to wall mount it)
5. Reputable brand

I definitely found all of that with this LG. I will be using:
1. a Yamaha receiver with 4 HDMI ins and lots of output combination.
2. Cable box with HDMI out
3. DVD player with HDMI
4. AppleTV with HDMI out

Because I am using a receiver, I will have great sound quality, and the ability to easily switch between components. I don't care about the amount of inputs the TV will have as it basically will work as a monitor, like on a computer. For what this TV is, a monitor, it works perfectly. The picture quality is very nice and the refresh rate looks good enough. Again, remember what I am doing with the TV. Make sure you calibrate it. I suggest not using the built in speakers and buying some Home Theater system or receiver and speakers. I have mine sitting on very nice corner TV stand. I have mine in a corner where I will have sun glare around 3-5pm and make watching the TV a little hard. So if you plan on using this is a really bright room, prepare yourself to buy some window trim or not buy this TV. If the glare from the sun because too much for my viewing pleasure, I simply close the drapes.

So in summary, great TV especially for the price. Don't be silly and spend a butt load on a friggin TV. I mean, c'mon people.

ViewSonic VT2430 24-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV for $249.00

Cheap ViewSonic VT2430 24-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Discount Review Shop

I was looking for a smaller tv for the bedroom without paying a lot of money. Just something inexpensive without sacrificing quality. I read alot of reviews and the negatives on the reviews are so wrong. The sound quality is very good for the size, I actually have to lower the volume alot and the picture quality is awesome. I just have it plugged into my regular cable line and not HDMI so some of the lower channels when changing get a little hung up or don't change fast which really isn't a big deal. It's only because of the connection. Also, as far as the light on the tv staying on even when it's off I never notice, my alarm clock is brighter than that. Great price and great product. Happy with my purchase and I did alot of research before buying.

VIZIO E320VL 32-inch Class LCD HDTV 1080p for $358.00

Cheap VIZIO E320VL 32-inch Class LCD HDTV 1080p Discount Review Shop

We picked this up at a local supercenter and have been pleased with it right out of the box. Really easy set up and looks great with the blue-ray player.
Some of the better features include:
- A smart sound adjustment that keeps commercials from getting ridiculously loud.
- Four different picture sizes to adjust for wide screen and standard TV.
- Eco mode that isn't as bright and brilliant, but saves on power consumption.
- Easy USB connect to view pics on the TV in a slide show format.
- The screen itself is a sort of matte texture, so the chance of glare is reduced greatly.
- Just about everything is customizable for Picture, Audio, Channel locking, etc. (especially if you get into advanced menus)
Cons
- The picture doesn't look all that awesome with normal TV, but that's just how they get you to buy the "HD package" I suppose.
- The stand that the TV comes with is not adjustable at all!
- The Vizio symbol stays lit even when the TV is off... How is that eco-friendly?

All in all though, this is a great budget TV that works well in smaller rooms, and still looks good.
