I was looking for a smaller tv for the bedroom without paying a lot of money. Just something inexpensive without sacrificing quality. I read alot of reviews and the negatives on the reviews are so wrong. The sound quality is very good for the size, I actually have to lower the volume alot and the picture quality is awesome. I just have it plugged into my regular cable line and not HDMI so some of the lower channels when changing get a little hung up or don't change fast which really isn't a big deal. It's only because of the connection. Also, as far as the light on the tv staying on even when it's off I never notice, my alarm clock is brighter than that. Great price and great product. Happy with my purchase and I did alot of research before buying.

I purchased the ViewSonic VT2430 for my 90 year old father who is very hard of hearing and watches the TV from his kitchen table. If was small enough to fit between his kitchen cabinets and still was plenty large enough for him to see. I was happy with the sound quality and the picture clarity. Good buy for the price.

The only "hold out" in our house that wasn't a relatively new flat screen TV was in our office. The built-in corner bookcase dictated the size. This ViewSonic 24" replaced a 15-year old TV.
The picture quality is good, especially with digital/ HD channels. We didn't want a converter box in this location, but the tuner(s) found plenty of unscrambled digital and analog channels from our cable system.
As with most LCD TVs, the off-angle viewing is poor, but since this is a smaller room, that isn't a concern.
In a previous life I'd sold plenty of ViewSonic computer monitors, so I was aware of their better-than-average quality and reliability. So far, we're not disappointed!

It is not a huge tv or anything but very nice in a small room. The picture is nearly perfect. The sound quality okay but not great, but I've never owned a TV that had decent sound built-in. Get some external speakers. I recommend this TV for anyone looking for a good TV that's not very large. It also works as a computer monitor. It came with no problem and it looks great.
